Well hello Friday! Am I glad to see you! It’s been a full on week here at Boho HQ, so I am really looking forward to a bit of a rest this weekend. Nik is away skiing at the moment so it’s just me and Dexter this weekend, I can’t wait! Today though I have this gorgeous fusion wedding to share with you. Chandya and Frederick were married on 8th November 2024 in Tucson, Arizona, mixing her Sri Lankan heritage with his Christian. Together they created a beautiful outdoor celebration with traditional ceremony rituals and a big old party afterwards. Estelle Marie Photography was there to capture this gorgeous day for us.
Chandya and Fredrick’s wedding at Kingan Gardens was a beautiful fusion of Christian and Sri Lankan traditions, celebrating their love and heritage. The ceremony began with a dynamic drummer from LA, setting a joyful tone for the day. Surrounded by loved ones, they honoured past relatives through a heartfelt ritual, tied pinkies with a string while pouring holy water, and exchanged vows. The Sri Lankan poruwa ceremony added a rich cultural touch, featuring a traditional platform, lamp lighting, and blessings from their parents. Chandya radiated elegance, wearing a traditional saree for the ceremony before changing into a stunning gown for the reception. It was a day filled with meaningful moments and vibrant cultural traditions, perfectly blending the old and the new.
