Happy Friday everyone! I hope you had a good Halloween yesterday, Did you embrace the celebrations and go trick or treating or did you hide inside. It’s always a great night on our street, we all really go to town, so we had a great time. Now it’s the turn of Bonfire night, so we are off to Chatsworth tonight for their bonfire and fireworks display, which should be another good night, then off to another display on Sunday. It’s all go this time of the year! Before any of that can happen though, I have this gorgeous autumn wedding to share with you. Aubrey and Ansel were married on 21st October 2023 at Aspen Hall in Bend, Oregon. They held the most gorgeous wedding, with rich autumnal tones, deep oranges, reds and pinks, all fusing together to create this rather lovely fall wedding day. Big thanks to Hannah Turner Photography for the wonderful submission.
Aubrey and Ansel met in nursing school and explored the world as travel nurses. They ended up in Bend where they are both outdoor adventure seekers along with their dog Everest. They wanted a laid back wedding that celebrated the outdoors with their families and friends.
Their fall wedding truly embraced the season. With warm coloured linen and a crown of flowers it felt like a fall banquet. Aubrey hand dyed socks with leaves for each of her bridesmaids and the table name cards were hand burned into wood rounds – each with a spring of rosemary. The simple naked cake was decorated with figs, berries, and rosemary.
We decided to split up portraits throughout the day to get as many backgrounds as possible and to avoid having their day feel like elongated photoshoot. We had their first look on an aspen path where the couple opted to read private vows to each other. For wedding party photos and a few additional portraits – we opted for under the towering ponderosa trees with a few under the weeping willow trees.
At sunset – we quickly went on top of the ridge for some desertscape photos framed by the large sky and mountains in the distance.
Since their wedding they’ve opted to make Central Oregon their home and bought a house!
