Hailey and Josh's 'Simple Elegance' Romantic Rocky Mountain Wedding in Canada

Happy Monday everyone, how are you all doing? May I wish you a Happy 1st February, thank goodness that January is over and done with. May the nights get longer now and lets bring on spring! How was your weekend? I think I appreciate the weekends even more than ever, no work, no homeschooling, there may not be much to do but at least we can relax, chill and enjoy time as a family! What about you? What’s your favourite part of the weekend? I have a super busy week planned here on the blog, starting off with this romantic and super stylish wedding of Hailey and Josh. The wedding was submitted by their wedding planner Signature Weddings By Ashley and it’s just gorgeous. Hailey wears not one but two Grace Loves Lace dresses, the backdrop of the Rocky Mountains is jaw dropping and the flowers are breathtaking. I know you are going to love it!

Our wedding was pure bliss! All of our friends and family came together to celebrate our love in the gorgeous Rocky Mountain.

Hailey and Josh were married on 8th September at Silvertip Resort, Canmore AB, Canada. ‘We just love the mountains, so this location was perfect for us. We had 160 guests and it took one and half years to plan.’

How they met
Josh and I met in my hometown Kindersley, Saskatchewan during Christmas holidays. We met at a local bar and hit it off. We have now been together for 6 years.

The proposal
Josh had come home that day from work and asked for my help to carry in groceries. I did not think much of it but when I closed the refrigerator door he was behind me on one knee with a beautiful ring. He said to me “I love you and I can’t imagine my life without you. Will you marry me?”

How did you allocate your budget?
We started with the key vendors first then did all of the visual items last as those can fluctuate the most.

Where did you splurge and where did you save?
We splurged on our planner, photographer, videographer, dress, wedding supplies like decor & flowers. We saved on stationary, accessories, DJ and transportation

How did you choose your photographer?
She is my now sister in law

The dress

The suit and bridesmaids

Theme or colour scheme
Simple Elegance (blush, ivory, champagne and greeney)

Flowers
We had a mix of flowers that included garden roses, lisianthus, pampas grass and mixed greenery.

Decoration
We kept it neutral for the decor having ivory tablecloths, glass chargers plates, mocha napkins, candles, greenery and string lighting.

Entertainment
We had a guitarist for the ceremony and a DJ for the reception

Special moments
Travelling up a mountain to our first look location in a van that maybe wasn’t suited for off road travelling. I do not know if this was the funniest or most terrifying but it was memorable.

Advice for other couples
Hire a wedding planner, it makes the whole process so much easier. Get inspired on social media and make it happen. Relax and let the day play out. It will be one of the best days of your life!!

Biggest surprise
I think Josh and I were both surprised by how many people came together to celebrate our love! It truly was the best day ever!
